Senior Legal Counsel - Litigation and Regulatory Enforcement Responsibilities: Provide paralegal support on global litigation, arbitration, and regulatory enforcement matters, including securities law and employment law matters. Assist with reports on litigation and regulatory enforcement matters, internally and to external auditors and supervisory authorities as necessary. Support the maintenance of litigation and regulatory enforcement related policies. Support legal holds and discovery, including supporting IT in e-discovery. Assist with coordinating and maintaining responses in connection with regulatory enforcement examinations, subpoena requests, and other regulatory enforcement-related information requests. Support the matter management database for litigation and regulatory enforcement matters. Manage US litigation, arbitration, and regulatory enforcement and employment matters. Work closely with Litigation & Regulatory Enforcement group on collateral consequence analysis with regard to Bank regulatory matters that may impact. Participate in or represent the legal department on various internal committee meetings.
Qualifications: Requires a JD Degree, previous relevant experience as a litigation/regulatory lawyer in a mid-to-large law firm, with Securities and Exchange Commission, and/or legal department of a financial services company. Securities litigation experience is required; real estate law and employment law litigation experience is desirable. Strong analytical, written and oral communication and relationship-building skills are is required. Must be able to work effectively and independently, facing senior management, in a demanding, fast-paced, fluid environment. Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently while maintaining the highest standards and attention to detail. Experience with PowerPoint and Excel is helpful.
