Corporate Counsel, Regulatory Compliance Duties: Provide guidance to company on how to comply with applicable federal (and state) laws and minimize risk, particularly those relating to consumer lending, credit underwriting, collection of consumer lending accounts, customer privacy, and protection of consumer rights. Provide legal advice and counsel to company management and employees on corporate legal issues relating to the company's diversified financial products and services, including, without limitation, payday lending, installment lending, open-end credit, title lending, prepaid debt, other cashing, wire transfer and other money services businesses. Specific legal issues may include product compliance, privacy issues, collections, vendor management, etc. Represent legal department in corporate meetings. Serve as a trusted subject matter expert for senior management and respective business partners. Communicate professionally and confidently on regular basis with internal and external stakeholders. Facilitate timely and effective resolution of legal or compliance issues. Analysis, review, and resolution of regulatory changes impacting business areas. Analysis, review, and approval of corporate policies and procedures. Analysis, review, and approval of various financial products and services.. Analysis, review, and approval of potential and existing third party service providers. Attend relevant CLE classes and/or compliance conferences. Other legal assignments as directed. Adhere to all points of the creed. Understand, adhere to and enforce all corporate policies including, but not limited to, Advance America's Creed, Code of Ethics and Information Security Policies.

Qualifications: Law Degree (JD Degree), member in good standing of a state Bar association. 3-5+ years of related working experience in financial services preferred. Excellent written and verbal communications skills as would be needed to communicate in person, by phone, and through email; adaptability and flexibility to changing environment; and comfortable working in a dynamic, high volume, fast-paced environment. Ability to read, write, evaluate, and apply information. Ability to interact professionally and exhibit appropriate social skills. Knowledge of consumer financial services laws such as TILA, GLBA, ECOA, UDAAP, FDCPA, and FCRA preferred. Ability to develop and maintain business relationships. Strong leadership/management abilities.
