Compliance Investigations Associate Attorney The candidate will be responding to, investigating, and resolving potential compliance matters referred through Conifer's centralized compliance matter intake process. Communicating with clients and collaborating with internal business partners, including, but not limited to: Human Resources, Legal, Information Security, Client Delivery, and Operations, as needed, throughout the investigation process. Identifying potential trends in the compliance matter management process at client sites and working with operational partners to mitigate future compliance issues of similar types. Continuously working to improve efficiency with the compliance matter management process. Identifying risk-based monitoring and oversight opportunities to reduce recurring compliance matters. Will assist the Ethics and Compliance program leadership with risk assessments and process improvement-related project. Provide insight into training and educational opportunities to effectively manage compliance risk. Respond to, investigate, and resolve potential compliance matters through Conifer's centralized compliance matter management process. Communicate with clients and internal stakeholders both proactively and throughout the compliance investigation process. Support a Culture of Compliance through contributions to various process improvement initiatives focused on mitigating compliance risk within the organization. Identify and provide insight on training tools and educational materials that can be used to effectively mitigate compliance risk. Knowledge of federal program requirements, hospital compliance program obligations, and relevant International, State and Federal privacy and security laws, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) required. Demonstrates ability to interact and influence at a professional level. Uses initiative and discretion in accomplishing duties with minimum supervision. Demonstrates positive attitude, the ability to work with others, and a desire to learn. Uses systematic approach to problem solving and trouble shooting. Requires excellent research skills and exceptional communication and drafting skills. Must have intermediate to expert proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE. Bachelor's degree required. Juris Doctor, Masters, or other graduate degree preferred. Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Healthcare Privacy Certification (CHPC), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP-US); and/or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) preferred. 3 years in healthcare/healthcare revenue cycle, law, consumer finance, or a related field.
