Senior Labor, Employment & Litigation Counsel

Senior Labor, Employment & Litigation Counsel Duties: Handle all facets of employment and labor law work, and provide high-quality, practical advice and support to Human Resources and management clients on a wide range of labor and employment law issues, and will also represent the companies in a variety of labor and employment matters, including union representation and unfair labor practice proceedings before the NLRB, labor arbitrations, state and federal discrimination proceedings before administrative agencies (CHRO, MCAD, NHCHR, EEOC, etc.), and similar proceedings in state and/or federal court. May also actively manage and partner with the company's outside counsel on such matters. Qualifications: A JD Degree from an accredited law school is required. Admission in good standing in Massachusetts, Connecticut or New Hampshire Bar required (admission in more than one of these states is a plus). 7 years of timely, relevant labor and employment law and related employee benefits or litigation experience. Requires hands-on counseling experience on a broad range of labor and employment law issues, including hiring, employee relations, discipline and terminations, leaves of absence, accommodations, wage and hour compliance, contingent worker issues, labor relations, union grievances, union negotiations, DOT drug and alcohol law, and government contractor issues, as well as related litigation experience, including responding to agency charges and complaints, handling union election campaigns and unfair labor practice proceedings, and handling labor arbitrations. Litigation experience in state and/or federal court is desired, and knowledge of employee benefits law is a plus. Mmust be self-motivated and be able to immediately assume an active caseload, working closely with other in-house legal resources, human resources personnel, company management, and, in certain matters, outside counsel. Being a good team player, well-organized, and able to identify business-oriented solutions to complex legal problems are essential qualities to ensure success. Must also demonstrate excellent written and oral communications skills.
