Privacy Attorney The candidate will support a company on the cutting edge of banking technology, strengthening a company culture of data privacy and advising on evolving regulatory and contractual compliance. Will need the ability to work collaboratively, as well as autonomously. Assignments will vary and may include: taking an active role on privacy committee, completing an internal privacy audit, updating privacy guiding principles and privacy roadmap and working with stakeholders to implement them, guiding product development and partner and client contracting to comply with privacy and financial regulations, assisting with negotiation of and compliance with data access agreements. Shape the future of banking in a way that protects privacy and complies with regulations. Create and foster an internal culture of data privacy to protect MX's clients and users through company policy and training. Guide national and international data privacy and fintech regulation policy as an industry thought leader. Guide the development of new, more privacy-aware financial products and services. Help the industry achieve the goal of open banking by negotiating data access agreements and monitoring compliance with their terms. Contribute your expertise to a collaborative, interdepartmental privacy committee. Undergraduate and JD degrees and active member of a state Bar. 5 or more years of financial industry experience in a corporate legal department, government, or law firm dealing with U.S. and international data privacy laws and financial industry regulations. Industry expertise on CCPA, CPRA, GLBA, FCRA, PIPEDA, and GDPR compliance and enforcement. Experience with the CFPB, FTC, FRS, FDIC, OCC, SEC, and/or NCUA. Previous success implementing and managing data privacy and compliance policies and controls in the financial industry. Expertise drafting, negotiating, and tracking compliance with API/data access agreements. Deep understanding of modern connectivity in the open banking ecosystem. Must have 5 + years of legal experience with data privacy laws and compliance in the financial industry to join the legal team.
