Corporate Counsel Responsibilities: Reviewing, negotiating, and advising legal and operations teams on goods and services contracts and retail and commercial leases. Coordinating with business teams and outside counsel on real estate and financing transactions. Assisting in the implementation of best practices with respect to operations, contracting, corporate governance and investor reporting, and procurement. Will be part of risk-management team responsible for sourcing and administering insurance policies to protect corporate and real estate assets. Assisting on litigation matters; supervising outside counsel.
Requirements: Law degree from a nationally accredited university. Admission to at least one state bar (preferably Illinois). 3 + years general corporate or real estate experience in a large law firm setting, or in-house with a mid-sized or large company. Background in private equity is preferred; some litigation experience is a plus. Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with team members at all levels of the organization. Must be able to work independently, issue-spot, and meet critical deadlines.
