Junior Compliance Attorney Responsibilities: Maintain an understanding of applicable laws, rules and regulations applicable to business units. Review regulatory changes and provide regulatory guidance to internal stakeholders Manage state licensing activities, including applications, renewals, and annual reports Review marketing materials to ensure alignment with State and Federal Regulations Respond to consumer inquiries and complaints and ensure satisfactory resolution. Assist with third party audits and regulatory examinations, including collecting information, drafting responses, and interacting with regulators. Support the implementation and management of the compliance risk management framework, including drafting training; reviewing customer-facing communications, and policies and procedures; and responding to consumer complaints.
Qualifications JD Degree from an accredited U.S. law school, Bar admission in good standing. Must be currently admitted to practice law in New York 1-3 years of compliance or law firm experience. Detail orientated, highly organized, and strong analytical skills Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work both collaboratively in a team setting and independently. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities. Knowledge of TILA, FCRA, GLBA, UDAAP, TSR and other state and federal consumer lending regulations a plus. Experience advising financial institutions and/or startups a plus.
