Senior Employment Law Attorney Duties: Advise, provide counsel to, and work closely with HR on a broad range of employment matters, including recruiting, hiring, benefits, accommodations, compensation, employee relations, discipline, terminations, investigations, harassment, discrimination, wage and hour compliance, and strategies for managing risk around employment matters. Design, draft, and maintain human resources policies, agreements, templates, and other employment-related documents. Prepare and conduct employment law training for human resources and management, manage Company training programs in conjunction with HR. Coordinate and manage external local and international counsel on personnel and compliance issues. Counsel management and HR on new or pending employment law legislation and changes in industry best practices. Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international employment laws and regulations.
Qualifications: Law degree with a license to practice in the State of California. 8+ years of legal experience, preferably including in-house employment law experience in a public technology company and experience with a top-tier law firm. Knowledge of federal and California employment laws and regulations including Title VII, FEHA, Americans with Disabilities Act, Family Medical Leave Act, EEO laws, wage and hour and other federal and local laws affecting the employer-employee relationship. Demonstrate successful ability to integrate with and provide strategic counsel to Human Resources department and other internal business partners. Possess strong client-relations, interpersonal, written and oral communication and analytic skills. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally with all levels of management regarding complex employment legal issues.
