Senior Counsel - Litigation The candidate will provide legal support for litigation matters. Will manage fast-paced docket of litigation (including arbitrations) and regulatory investigations/matters (including financial regulatory enforcement matters) for Firms across a range of practice areas. Develop, execute, and continuously assess Firms' litigation strategy and tactics, including providing thought leadership, strategic direction and proactive solutions. Join a team that receives, tracks, investigates, prepares evidentiary presentations, attempts to settle, and, where necessary, litigates civil disputes and regulatory matters. Review and edit pleadings and briefs as needed. Engage and manage outside counsel to effectively and efficiently represent Firms. Work collegially and supportively with other members of the legal team. Exercise sound legal judgment and act as a key partner for internal business stakeholders; act independently and prioritize tasks while considering relevant risk, business and objectives. Collaborate with business leaders to generate solutions that minimize litigation risk without impeding commercial objectives or strategies. Advise senior executives on litigation strategies for active matters. Support the Company's diversity objectives.
The candidate should have a JD degree from an accredited law school with proven academic success. Must be Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the Bar of any state. Must have 8-12 years of legal experience in litigation at a law firm or in-house. Organizational experience and strategic thinking, and experience advancing projects in a multi-stakeholder environment is required. Must have sound business judgment and client counseling experience.
