Litigation Counsel Duties: Responsible for managing litigation (e.g., product liability, IP, consumer class actions, commercial litigation, etc.), including pre-litigation dispute resolution, discovery and other litigation requests and processes, preparing witnesses, reviewing pleadings and other court documents, and providing advice and recommendations to senior management, other litigation team members, and the Vice President, Litigation, regarding strategy, management, and resolution of cases and matters. Drive strategy, execution, and management of outside counsel on litigation and government investigation matters. You will work cross-functionally with teams to mitigate litigation risk and to ensure compliance with litigation and regulatory obligations. Support internal investigations with risk of litigation related exposure and will keep abreast of other legal and claims activities. Qualifications: A JD Degree from a top law school and admission to at least one state bar in good standing. 5+ years of relevant legal experience in litigation, with 2+ years law firm experience. Prior in-house experience a plus. Knowledge and experience with the following substantive areas of law preferred: product liability, patent and IP, class actions. Knowledge and experience with the following substantive areas of law a plus: government enforcement, antitrust, and insurance coverage. Substantial pre-trial experience, including coordinating and responding to discovery requests, and managing e-discovery in complex matters is required. Substantial experience drafting, editing and supervising pleadings at all stages of litigation is required. Substantial experience preparing witnesses for interviews, depositions and trials strongly preferred. Experience managing or actively participating on trial teams preferred. Appellate experience a plus. Familiarity with high tech, telecommunications or consumer electronics business a plus. Highly motivated, efficient, and organized; able to juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment, both collaborating as a team and working independently. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively to solve complex legal challenges. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate efficiently and to manage people effectively. Outstanding research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills; must be able to read, interpret, present and explain legal defense strategies and documents to executives and staff. Able to lead projects and initiatives with little supervision or direction. Able to successfully collaborate with other legal and business colleagues in a complex, geographically dispersed organization. Excellent business judgment and communication skills.
