EEOC Employment Counsel Responsibilities: Serve as primary counsel for and directly manage company EEOC, agency case portfolio with focus on positive results. Cost-effectively manage employment litigation/other costs and interface with outside counsel. Conduct and manage internal investigations. Provide representation and/or management of matters for the Company before state and federal administrative agencies, including the OFCCP, the Wage and Hour Division, EEOC, state and local human rights agencies, as well as in mediations and arbitrations and any claims under local union grievance procedures. Provide advice and counsel to management, Human Resources, and Labor Relations regarding compliance with existing labor and employment laws and new legislation. Draft and present client training on labor and employment issues. Provide advice and counsel in other business areas and work on legal projects to improve business policies and processes. Support and contribute to L&E team's annual objectives and Human Resource/Labor Relations teams initiatives.

Qualifications: Law degree from an accredited college or university. Admitted to practice in at least one jurisdiction in the United States and, if not admitted in Florida, the ability to qualify for in-house counsel status in Florida. 5-10 years of law firm training strongly preferred, prior in-house or government experience is a plus. Demonstrated experience representing corporate clients before administrative agency proceedings, including the investigation and handling of Charges, drafting and submitting Position Statements in response to Charges and Complaints, investigating and responding to agency RFI's and subpoenas, and engaging in the mediation and conciliation process. Must have several years of substantive employment law experience in addition to general employment advice, counsel and litigation experience. Ability to manage projects and inspire cross-functional team to high performance. Demonstrated experience directly advising senior business leaders on employment matters. Demonstrated experience in process development and innovation; ability to form common process to handle similar matters efficiently. Demonstrated commitment to compliance, integrity and quality. Demonstrated experience providing legal advice in a highly regulated environment. Demonstrated experience identifying and resolving legal issues quickly and effectively and ability to make on the spot risk decisions. Demonstrated experience prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in an extremely fast paced environment. Ability to collaborate, build relationships, gain credibility, and partner effectively with others up and down a matrixed organization. Self-directed, detail and results-oriented individual that with strong work ethic and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to achieve enterprise-wide results. Ability to strategically guide the organization through change and inspire others to get involved and solve problems. Knowledge and experience in key legal trends that impact the business. Ability to respectfully speak up, exchange feedback and boldly share ideas without fear. Strong oral and written communicator with an aptitude for critical thinking and succinctly presenting the best course of action. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.. Lead and hold team, peers, and leaders accountable for always doing the right thing in alignment with The Carrier Way.
