Corporate Counsel - Real Estate Responsibilities: Work cross functionally with members of the Real Estate, Zoning, Construction and Government Affairs teams; Negotiate and draft contracts regarding real estate transactions including Leases, LOIs, NDAs, and construction service agreements; Review and prepare with outside counsel leases and other ancillary real estate documents (SNDAs, estoppels, CUPs, etc.). Ability to research and interpret various local and state zoning codes and think outside the box regarding use restrictions; Develop the Company's strategy for handling commercial disputes and manage the discovery process; Work with internal clients to solve legal risk and business issues that arise; Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects; and Opportunity to partner with many other business units within the Company outside of the real estate team.
Requirements: Must be in good standing and be admitted to a U.S. state Bar; 7+ years of experience in leasing matters; Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization; A self-starter, combined with the ability to exercise independent judgment and critical thinking; Experience negotiating and drafting contracts, with an eye towards both legal and financial/commercial issues; Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships across the organization's various departments; and Must be organized and work well within a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
