Corporate Counsel-Industrial Duties: Apply knowledge of legal risks and concepts, as well as analytical skills and ability to think strategically to promote better decision-making by business clients, helping them manage legal and compliance risks. Work directly with clients as well as other legal functions and subject matter experts collaborating on cross-functional teams, leveraging communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships that enable you to anticipate and satisfy the business's legal needs. Review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including purchase or sales agreements for goods or services, consulting agreements, and confidentiality agreements as well as provide support to any potential mergers and acquisitions activity pursued by the business. Provide support and guidance on legal and policy issues relative to proposed new products and services and commercial transactions. Become and remain knowledgeable of trends and changes in laws as reflected in judicial precedent, legislation, and government regulations affecting the business and its products, and communicate them to management.
Qualifications: Law degree from top-tier law school. Member in good standing of at least one State Bar. 5-7 years of experience with a law firm. Excellent communication and writing skills. Good business judgment and sound decision-making in balancing risk, opportunity, and business objectives. Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with and influencing client groups. Hardworking and results-oriented. Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; work independently, making decisions that have both legal and business impact; and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
