Corporate Generalist Staff Attorney

Corporate Generalist Staff Attorney The candidate will be negotiating commercial contracts with the clients and suppliers. Will be serving in the data privacy legal compliance for the events and programs; corporate governance for firm family of agencies; and general corporate legal advice on a range of other topics. Analyze, present, and advise on corporate and business law issues. Draft, negotiate and advise on Service Agreements, Statements of Work and other contracts with clients and suppliers for event management, production, creative, digital, advertising and strategy services. Review and negotiate software licenses and SaaS contracts for business infrastructure and event technology; Data Protection Agreements with clients and suppliers; program risk assessments; advise on technology and data security topics related to virtual and in-person events. Governance, commercial leases, litigation, employment, insurance. Clearly explain contracts, risks, requirements and regulations to non-legal colleagues. Research and anticipate unique legal issues. Facilitate compliance and legal training; and other duties as assigned. The candidate should have JD degree from an ABA accredited law school. Must have Membership in good standing of at least one U.S. State Bar, with ability to register as corporate counsel in Oregon. Should have 5+ years of generalist legal experience, preferably including commercial transactions, corporate litigation, and/or technology/information security. Should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Should have strong knowledge of contract law with expertise in contract drafting and negotiation. Must have general knowledge or understanding of corporate governance, data security law (GDPR, CCPA), technology law, insurance, commercial litigation, employment law and/or intellectual property law.
