Privacy Counsel Duties: Draft and negotiate privacy and data protection agreements with vendors, customers, and partners. Partner closely with and advise our security, product, marketing, sales, HR, and other business teams on privacy and data protection-related legal matters. Evaluate the impact of U.S. and international legislation, regulations, and industry guidelines involving privacy and security. Help mature the privacy program across the entire company, including impact assessments, training, certifications, program assessments, and audits, and policy and procedure development. Work collaboratively on cross-functional projects related to data governance, data protection, and privacy by design. Provide sound advice and guidance on legal and business-related issues to senior business leaders.
Qualifications: 4+ years substantive privacy legal experience preferably in-house with a successful, high-growth enterprise SaaS company, and 2+ years negotiating privacy terms. Knowledge of worldwide data protection regulations, including GDPR and HIPAA. Outstanding written and oral communications skills. Excellent negotiation skills with vendors and customers. Exceptional organizational, project management, and prioritization skills. The ability to think and execute both strategically and tactically. Experience scaling the business and legal processes and policies for a rapidly growing organization. The ability to work with a wide variety of people, at all levels in the organization, in a fast-paced environment. Service-oriented, professional, and strong integrity.
