Counsel, Privacy The candidate will provide specialist advice on all aspects of privacy law and regulation, including data protection, data retention, and data breach rules. Review and new initiatives for privacy by design considerations and launch readiness. Draft and negotiate privacy terms in legal agreements. Support aspects of privacy compliance programs, including impact assessments, certifications, program assessments and audits, regulatory compliance projects, training, policy development, and incident response. Collaborate with and support other key departments within the company (e.g., Product, Privacy Engineering, Security, Public Policy, Communications). Support company engagement with government, industry, and consumer groups on privacy issues.

The candidate should have a JD degree and bar admission. Must have 5 years of counseling in data privacy and information security issues. Technical background is a plus. Experience as a project manager, including working with engineering and product teams to deliver cross-functional results is required. Subject matter expertise across the privacy law spectrum (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, data breach requirements). CIPP or similar certification is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well and adapt in a dynamic, high-pressure environment are essential. Should be self-motivated with good business judgment and has a good sense of humor. The ability to think creatively and comfort with working in new and developing fields and technologies is a prerequisite.
