Regulatory and Compliance Attorney Duties: Research and advise on Property & Casualty insurance laws and regulations. Monitor and interpret new and changing insurance laws and regulations. Provide counsel to the company's business units on compliance and regulatory issues. Provide legal counsel on all matters related to compliance issues throughout the company. Provide legal counsel on all state and federal regulatory matters, primarily related to state insurance department issues. Provide legal counsel on inter-company contractual and licensing matters. Provide legal counsel on issues related to market conduct actions and exams. Provide legal counsel on issues related to consumer complaints. Provide legal counsel to peers across Legal and other control functions. Develop and recommend company policy and position on legal issues. Conduct and coordinate research into a variety of legal issues. Anticipate and mitigate potential legal problems within the organization and develop strategies to avoid costly regulatory examinations and litigation and reduce potential areas of risk.

Qualifications: JD Degree from an accredited law school required. 5 years Property & Casualty insurance industry legal experience required. Membership in the applicable State's Bar as an attorney qualified to practice law in that state required. Corporate legal experience preferred. Knowledge of federal, state and local laws. Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations. Knowledge and ability to develop best practices in assigned areas of expertise. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
