Senior Privacy and Product Counsel The candidate will lead a growing team of individuals supporting's product, compliance and technical work within our department. Provide guidance on compliance with global privacy and data security laws, regulations and industry standards. We re not looking for an academic analysis Partner with the business (engineering, product, security, etc.) on global privacy related initiatives. Support efforts to build trustworthy, data privacy-conscious products our customers love. Design scalable processes for implementation. Engage with the privacy legal community to understand evolving issues and to help provide an industry-leading privacy program for our customers and stakeholders. Experience establishing and driving team objectives to support broader business goals. Experience leading a team, and who's focused on supporting the growth and needs of the employees who report to you. Keen awareness of product, privacy and data protection issues that our users (end users, organization administrators, developers, enterprise customers, or consumers) are focused on when considering or using our products. A proven understanding of global privacy and data protection law and trends. A mentality around ownership, rolling up your sleeves, and getting things done. Creative thinking beyond the legal box to generate possible solutions and options for the business, clearly articulating risk-based recommendations. Effective communication with the business to help them understand and follow the rules and parameters imposed by laws. An initiative to master new subject areas, whether new laws, new technologies or new business strategies. Effective navigation of a decentralized and complex global organization. Ability to build lasting relationships with business stakeholders to strengthen the connection between our team and the business. A strong understanding of software technology and cloud services, associated business models, and technology industry trends are required. 7+ years practicing law are required. CIPP certification are required. Experience managing a team of people are required. Practical experience product counseling a diverse set of product types. Deep knowledge of applicable privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, etc.). An ability to issue-spot areas requiring involvement of other teams such as intellectual property, employment, commercial, security, and risk and compliance are required. Extensive experience working with technical teams to develop customer-centric solutions. A knack for distilling complex legal and technical concepts into plain, concise language. A technical background isn t required, but a basic understanding of software engineering is a definite plus, and an ability to quickly learn new business and technology concepts is necessary.
