Patent Litigation Counsel Duties: Works with research and development and marketing personnel, as well as patent agents and senior management, to define and implement the litigation strategy for the Corporation. Creates litigation reports and advises the Business on the litigation activities. Monitors competitive litigations and implements strategies learned. Trains staff and assists in the development of staff on litigation readiness. Maintains the confidentiality of Legal Department communications and documentation.
Required Qualifications: Licensed to practice law. 3+ years of law firms litigation work. Courtroom experience. 3+ years of in-house medical device company legal/IP experience. 6+ years of experience in a wide array of intellectual property matters. Full capability using Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing an intellectual property group or practice. Effective leadership, motivational, and team-building skills with the ability to lead organizational change and demonstrated decision-making capabilities. Strong relationship skills, ability to manage and motivate both up and down the Corporation. High energy, self-motivated, hands-on, and participatory with strong results orientation and ability to quickly establish priorities. Sense of ownership and a desire to support the Corporation to achieve high-level corporate goals. including licensing, client counseling, and trademark prosecution.
