Part Time Senior Contracts Counsel Candidate will be responsible for preparing and negotiating contract documentation with commercial vendors and strategic partners of the company, principally software companies, hardware/technology equipment providers and corporate professional services vendors. Will involve a wide variety of issues that generally arise in the context of commercial procurement contracts and information technology and payments services in areas that include software licensing, data security, privacy and regulatory matters. Will: Review, prepare and negotiate procurement contracts in the information and technology services areas, such as software licenses, hardware purchases, and other outsourcing and information services agreements for services and products provided to FIS; perform legal analysis on commercial contract and information technology law issues, including data security, privacy, and technology development; and advise business colleagues on legal issues relating to commercial contracts.
Qualifications: College degree and a JD Degree from an accredited US law school and be licensed to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction. 5+ years ? in the practice of law in a high-quality law firm or in-house environment, and be a seasoned, experienced legal professional with an understanding of corporate and commercial contract issues. Knowledge of and experience with the principles involved in drafting information and technology services agreements, software license agreements, and general commercial contracts. Strong negotiation and deal-making skills, including the ability to balance the company's goals and the vendor's needs, as well as the ability to deal with multiple parties with competing interests. Strong analytical and advisory skills, including the ability to review and evaluate multi-faceted issues and counsel business colleagues on complex legal questions relating to various business matters. Creative problem-solving skills needed to resolve issues in a pragmatic and sound manner. Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with senior management, outside legal counsel, and internal and external clients. Strong writing skills and the ability to draft contracts and other legal communications. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including the lead role in a wide variety of matters with both legal and non-legal professionals, and comfortable with technology and the use of technology tools in performing daily work responsibilities. Experience in the payments services or data processing industry is a plus.
