Counsel - Employment Law Duties: Providing advice and counsel to HR and business partners on a broad range of issues, such as recruiting and hiring; employee relations; discipline and terminations; internal investigations; restructuring activities; leaves of absence; requests for accommodation; wage and hour compliance; diversity, inclusion, and belonging efforts; restrictive covenants; HR policies; and external worker issues. Managing litigation arising from AML activities and determining litigation strategy. Drafting severance agreements. Identifying the need for, and facilitating training on relevant topics. Managing responses to subpoenas.

Qualifications: JD degree or LL.M. degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school, admission to practice law in Puerto Rico jurisdiction, and 2 years of experience practicing employment law. Beyond that, additional preferred qualifications are: 5+ years of experience practicing employment law in Puerto Rico. Excellent knowledge of federal and Puerto Rico employment laws and regulations. Litigation experience in court and arbitration. Experience advising clients directly. Excellent communication (both written and oral), facilitation, and presentation skills in English and Spanish. Be able to establish relationships of trust with HR & Business Partners, and to work collaboratively with colleagues in the Employment Law Group and beyond. Strong litigation experience and a deep knowledge of employment law. Experience as an attorney who works well in teams, puts the company first, finds practical solutions to problems, and thinks proactively about how to improve all that company does.
