Senior Corporate Counsel - Title Forward Legal Duties: Build an ever-expanding title and closing services business. Review new products, features, and services for compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Up to date on the most relevant title, closing, escrow, consumer protection, advertising, IP, and privacy laws and regulations to ensure an ongoing ability to provide sound compliance advice. Project manage large, amorphous projects and product releases in a way that inspires confidence in the clients. Be a thought leader on how to redefine title and closing services for customers, with the highest legal and ethical standards. Advise title team members and management on making smart closing decisions and mitigating risk. Oversee company and individual licensing requirements.
Qualifications: Home state Title Producer License is a plus. 7+ years of compliance and risk mitigation experience. 5+ years in the title industry is preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of settlement documents and multi-state underwriting/insurability guidelines. Qualia, Tableau, GSuite knowledge is helpful. Enthusiasm for working within digital and innovative platforms. Outstanding oral and written communication skills. Strong ability to listen to, empathize with, and provide unobtrusive but effective and influential advice to clients at all levels of the organization. Infectious, joyful, and creative approach to tackling complex legal and business problems. Motivation to take ownership of projects and functions and get things done. Passion for detail, outstanding organizational skills, and excellent follow-through.
