Legal Counsel Senior, Real Estate Duties: Providing real estate legal support services for multiple states, enterprise-wide functions, and/or through highly complex legal projects, which require specialization and knowledge of real estate law applied specifically to the company. Drafting, review, and analysis of real estate-related documents such as leases, lease amendments, easements, assignments/assumptions. Preparing and evaluating legal documentation to resolve problems, close transactions, and/or maintain good corporate governance. Conducting legal research and analysis, and recommending an appropriate course of action and next steps. Performing fact-checking, gathering documents, researching, and responding to various inquiries from internal and external sources. Monitoring state and federal legislation affecting the corporation, and developing and/or implementing recommendations relative to changes in regulations and laws. Attending and representing company at appropriate internal and external meetings and negotiations. Applying business knowledge and technical expertise to optimize solutions and improve practices. Participating in projects and negotiations and strategizing with business, staff, and external entities. Contributing to overall results of an SBU or CEE unit and/or department. Serving as a strategic partner with assigned clients. Providing legal solutions to a wide range of difficult or new problems. Developing recommendations and solutions that are thorough, practical, and consistent with organizational objectives. Supporting the development of other attorneys and paralegals by providing guidance on technical and tactical procedures for lower-level attorneys. Assuming management of outside counsel on routine matters. Assessing and mitigating risk for familiar situations. Reporting to management any identified business exposure and associated risks as well as mitigation techniques being utilized.

Basic Qualifications: A J.D. and a Current License to practice law. 6+ years of real estate experience, specific industry experience post-licensure; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Experience with estoppel certificates, subordination, non-disturbance, and attornment agreements, and access/indemnity agreements. Preferred Qualifications: 6-8 years of real estate legal experience. In-house or law firm real estate experience.
