Corporate & Litigation Counsel Responsibilities: Manage certain litigation matters including coordinating and directing and driving sophisticated and complex case strategy, drafting/editing pleadings, discovery, performing legal research, interviewing, and preparing witnesses for depositions and trial, and negotiating settlements. Manage outside counsel in relation to certain complex legal matters and associated spend. Assist members of the Legal Department in administration of various litigation and corporate matters, discovery projects, document review, and legal research on a variety of issues, including compliance and regulatory matters. Coordinate and Direct a team of sophisticated individuals when responding to pre-suit matters, including attorney letters and customer complaints. Responsible for identifying, assessing, and pursuing claims and affirmative recoveries. Assist legal management in the development of policies and procedures to mitigate corporate risk. Support the Vice President - Senior Managing Counsel and the VP - Strategic Legal Operations, as needed. Review of business/commercial contracts, particularly vendor contracts. Assist with employment-related matters.
Qualifications: Membership in good standing in at least one state bar in U.S. required (GA preferred). 3-6 years relevant legal experience. Litigation experience required. Proficient with legal research databases, such as Westlaw. Ability to research in a thorough and effective manner. Impeccable, clear, and concise communication, both written and verbal, required. Strong attention to detail. Strong factual and legal analytical abilities. Ability to interact effectively with individuals of varied backgrounds and skill levels. Comfortable with aggressive and proactive legal strategies. Ability to maintain positive attitude in the face of adversity. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and be computer literate.
