Associate General Counsel, Privacy Family Experience

Associate General Counsel, Privacy Family Experience The candidate will join the Legal Privacy Team and support the Family Experiences teams, which build new products that give users the ability to connect and control their experiences across company's platforms. Will join a team of privacy lawyers who identify, evaluate and address privacy risk in light of privacy laws, compliance obligations and policies; train on privacy matters; and collaborate closely with other legal teams as well as cross-functional privacy partners to provide global legal advice. Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in areas of data use and global privacy laws (including state and federal consumer protection and privacy laws, GDPR and other global privacy laws) and advise on the impact of the same on the company's businesses. Work closely with product counsel and product teams to guide privacy-forward product development, and evaluate the impact of privacy laws, regulatory guidance and enforcement actions. Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving privacy analysis and compliance with cross-functional stakeholders across the company. Support members of the company's product, engineering, legal, security, policy, and other business teams on privacy and security-related legal matters. Develop global regulatory strategy in connection with new product features and initiatives, and maintain the company's ongoing privacy-by-design processes. Manage internal privacy compliance programs and processes to ensure the company meets its obligations under those programs. Help to develop and conduct role-specific privacy trainings. Should have a J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US State Bar. Must have 8+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience. Experience advising on privacy legal risks and mitigations, with working knowledge of relevant privacy laws is required. In-house or government experience with applicable privacy, regulatory, or product counseling, particularly at a technology company and/or financial institution is preferred. Working knowledge of global privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially those relevant to global technology companies is desired.
