Associate General Counsel, Privacy The candidate will advise clients on various legal risks and obligations under global privacy laws. Will help drive high-profile cross-functional initiatives across the business involving a variety of complex legal and/or regulatory issues relating to third party risk management. Manage and advise on the company's global privacy program, including developing and improving privacy frameworks and processes to ensure the company meets its obligations under the program. Support product lawyers in evaluating impact of privacy laws, regulatory guidance and enforcement actions, and other related guidelines on new and existing products and features. Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in areas of data use and protection laws and advising the impact of the same on the company's business. Support members of the Legal, Partnerships, Policy and Privacy teams on privacy and security-related legal matters, including in areas related to product development, partnerships, integrations, and other business development opportunities. Evaluate the impact of legislative, regulatory, legal developments and industry proposals involving privacy and security across the company's services and companies. Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving privacy analysis and compliance with stakeholders across the company's business including Policy, Legal, Communications, Security, and other departments. Develop regulatory strategy with global privacy regulators in connection with new product features and initiative. J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US State Bar required. Must have 8+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience. Experience with global privacy laws, regulations, privacy programs and industry guidelines is required. Experience with litigation, regulatory, or product counseling is needed. Technical or engineering experience is preferred. Demonstrated expertise in privacy and data issues arising in one or more privacy areas such as data sharing, security, advertising, products or privacy program implementation/management is desired.
