Associate Counsel - Commercial/Contracts The candidate will provide advice and counsel to business managers on a broad range of business matters, including but not limited to commercial or construction contracts, risk management, and compliance issues. Draft, review, analyze and negotiate contracts. A practical approach to drafting and problem-solving. Ensure compliance with applicable and varied state laws and regulations. Advise and participate in legal support to the corporate department. Should have a JD with strong academic background, active and in good standing with Bar admission, and qualified to represent the company. Must have 2+ years of relevant experience. Experience in contract dispute resolution, including preparing demands/responses regarding claims, and assisting with litigation management is required. Be self-directed and results orientated, with the ability to set priorities and adjust work as necessary to meet deadlines. Makes timely decisions based on logical assumptions, using all available information. Be a team player who will roll up their sleeves and take on additional responsibilities, while also being able to work independently and think strategically. Must have strong attention to detail and quality of work product. Have exceptional drafting, communication, analytical and interpersonal skills. Have high energy to work in a fast-paced, but casual, work environment. Must have the ability to work well with other corporate legal and senior management, assess legal risk, think strategically, and providing practical, sound business recommendations. Knowledge in contracts, including experience handling procurement-related issues, contract administration, risk management, and disputes is needed.
