Media Counsel

Media Counsel Duties: Prepublication review of print and digital content. Advising on libel, privacy, newsgathering, copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property rights. Investigating and responding to complaints and queries. Assisting with the management of the company's IP portfolio. Drafting relevant licenses and other agreements.

Qualifications: Admission to New York Bar required. 2-5 years experience, preferably with a focus in media law, as a litigator and/or conducting a prepublication review of the published content. Experience in libel, newsgathering, privacy, reporter's privilege, and First Amendment matters a plus. Experience drafting media-related agreements, including licenses. Knowledge of, and the ability to manage copyright, trademark, and intellectual property rights. Additional corporate legal experience is helpful.
