Corporate Counsel, Global Trade Duties: Work with retail, compliance, and logistics professionals to develop innovative ways to grow and move the selection to global stores and customers. Work with engineers and product managers to support the development and commercialization/deployment of the company-branded offerings. As an integral part of the business teams, support, give input on tactical and strategic decisions, in addition to providing day-to-day legal counsel on a broad range of trade and import/export regulatory compliance matters. Develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways and you will help to build processes and internal controls that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly. Collaborate with public policy teams on regulatory changes. Opportunity to shape policies and programs in response to complex and constantly evolving import/export regulatory developments for a leading e-commerce, technology, and logistics company. Responsibilities include performing legal research; providing legal and risk analysis; drafting guidance documents, decision memos, regulatory submissions, and correspondence; managing internal data collection/review projects; developing and implementing processes to simplify or automate recurring tasks; and coordinating with compliance professionals, government relations specialists and other legal partners.

Qualifications: Strong academic credentials, including a degree from an accredited law school. Membership in good standing in at least one state or foreign Bar. 5+ years of post-admission legal experience, with some portion of that experience at a law firm. Meaningful experience in import and export matters related to e-commerce, technology, supply chain logistics, customs brokerage, or manufacturing. Experience advising on internal controls related to import/export compliance. Strong written and oral communication skills. Preferred: Strong grasp of customs requirements, with experience advising on Section 321/de minimis shipments. Experience handling import/export matters under non-U.S. legal regimes.
