Attorney - Retail Brokerage and Insurance Duties: Support the Bank and the Corporation's Wealth Management businesses, primarily supporting the retail brokerage, investment advisory, and insurance business at the Corporation. Work with all areas of the Corporation business line to provide legal advice and interpretation in a variety of areas including customer issues (authority questions, trusts and estates issues, powers of attorney), federal and state securities and insurance regulation, licensing, and operations. Negotiate partner product contracts and support governance activities related to the Corporation and its affiliates. Provide legal support related to fiduciary administration and investment management services provided by the Bank, a national bank with trust powers, primarily in the area of trust administration.
Qualifications: Law Degree. Licensed by and in good standing with the appropriate State Bar association or other appropriate state attorney licensing authority. 3+ years of the law firm or in-house experience. Securities regulatory experience is desired. Familiarity with state insurance regulations is a plus. Experience with contract drafting, review, and negotiation is an asset. Familiarity with trusts and estates is helpful. Strong analytical skills. Ability to work independently. Comfort with and interest in working on a variety of legal matters. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong commitment to client service.
