Senior Corporate Counsel - Government Contracts The candidate will be working with Firms Defense leaders to provide advice and counsel regarding U.S. government contracts matters, including negotiations and support for sales opportunities and contract administration post-award. Will be assisting other Firms divisions business leaders and functions with federal, state and local government contracts, as well as M&A diligence. Serving as a trusted resource for Firms Defense contract management, including maintaining risk guidelines and assisting with audits and risk assessments. Supporting the U.S. Government Contracts compliance program, which includes responsibility for training, program design, and deployment on a global basis. Providing recommendations concerning legal issues applicable to Firms Defense and other assigned areas of responsibility.

The candidate should have 6+ years of specialized legal experience in U.S. government contract transactions, and related counseling, compliance or administration of such transactions. Must have Juris Doctor and membership in good standing in at least one State Bar. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as it involves significant interaction with business units and leaders across the company, as well as legal colleagues and outside counsel. Must have a demonstrated record of interpreting and effectively communicating the substance of complex regulations in the relevant areas and the ability to manage multiple projects. Knowledge of FAR and DFARS, including commercial item rules, prevailing wage laws, and cost and pricing rules is needed. Experience negotiating U.S. Government contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, and NDAs is required. Must have knowledge of unique government ethics and compliance obligations. Familiarity with cybersecurity and data protection rules applicable to contractors is needed. Must have to understand the rules for classified contracting and handling classified material. Knowledge of DCAA audits and cost allowability rules is required. Familiarity with GSA Schedule contract is needed. Must have experience working with government administrative processes, including bid protests.
