Associate Corporate Counsel, Document Controls

Associate Corporate Counsel, Document Controls Duties: Understanding, updating, and enforcing Milhouse document/record retention policies and procedures. Working with the information technology team to create solutions to record retention challenges, using existing systems. Working with Corporate Counsel and Project Controls Manager to enforce document/record retention policies and procedures. Organizing, archiving and managing current records. Assisting with file migrations to permanent storage locations. Maintaining the confidentiality and the careful handling required in managing various records. Reviewing and updating non-disclosure agreements. Performing audits. Other legal duties as required, including contract review and drafting and legal research.

Qualifications: Attorney who graduated from an ABA accredited law school and licensed in any United States jurisdiction (IL preferred). 2-3 years of experience in law firm setting or similar sized private company in legal department. Familiar with legal research and drafting tools, including: Westlaw, Lexis Nexus, Bloomberg Law, etc. Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Strong, documented skills in areas of organization, problem-solving and personal interactions. Ability to learn new software quickly. Follow direction and pay close attention to detail. Complete assignments on time and accurately. Meet internal client and external client demands with thoroughness and prompt follow-up. Deal effectively with rapidly changing priorities and deadlines.
