Senior Corporate Counsel Duties: Provides general legal counsel and guidance, and prepares and negotiates legal documents with respect to one or more areas of substantive law or legal practice in specialized areas of expertise; may require supervision when handling complex matters. Manages and directs outside counsel, including taking lead in developing strategy and tactics in assigned matters. Advocates or gives presentations on the Company or Law Department position on matters of legal significance in various forums as assigned. Manages internal client relationships and assists in the resolution of competing interests of, and assessment of risks to, the Company and its subsidiaries and operating units. May train or supervise less experienced attorneys and paralegals. May be designated as primary legal counsel for one or more subsidiaries or operating units. May also be assigned corporate governance responsibilities as Assistant Secretary for the parent company or subsidiaries. All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or 8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A highly qualified attorney who handles major, complex or sensitive projects, legal problems, or issues with minimal supervision.
