Corporate Counsel Duties: Prepare, review, and negotiate a variety of legal contracts and commercial agreements. Provide legal advice on a variety of practice areas, including, but not limited to, corporate, commercial, data security, intellectual property, licensing, litigation, procurement, and mergers & acquisitions. Proactively manage risk through training and coaching of business partners, as well as through implementation of efficient contract governance processes. Succinctly and effectively communicate legal issues to business clients. Effectively integrate legal and business knowledge to develop practical business solutions. Keep up-to-date with developments and changes in laws and regulations affecting our business. Support the development of the legal department's goals and strategies.
Qualifications: Juris Doctorate, and licensed to practice law in a state in the United States. 3-5 years of experience in either an in-house legal department or a major law firm environment. Proven experience in representing software as a service (SaaS) or technology companies. Experience in a wide range of general corporate/commercial legal areas. Excellent judgment and analytical skills, with the ability to assess risk and provide practical advice. Ability and interest to learn and adapt to change and new technologies and to work independently in a fast-paced business environment. Strong ability to communicate and maintain effective relationships across the business.
