Senior Privacy Counsel Oversee compliance with domestic and international privacy laws, including CPRA, PIPEDA, GDPR and HIPAA; Advise product, advertising, engineering and other business teams on relevant privacy matters concerning product development, digital advertising, marketing, data uses and governance; Analyze the products builds for advertisers to ensure compliance with global privacy laws and regulations; Help support the Incident Response Team in the review and coordination of potential privacy or data security incidents; Coordinate with public policy and communications teams on external communication, policy development, and enforcement decisions related to privacy; Collaborate with product and engineering teams on implementing compliance programs such as privacy-by-design; Partner with legal team colleagues on commercial transactions and M&A activity; Keep at the forefront of the evolving regulatory landscape by staying up to date with best practices and legislative and regulatory developments; Think ahead, see around corners, and help to prepare for legal issues that may arise in the future.
Qualifications: A JD Degree from a top-tier law school and membership with at least one state bar (preferably California). 8+ years of related experience working at a leading law firm or in-house legal department, with 3+ years of hands on privacy experience (in-house experience, especially at a tech company, CPG or retailer, is a plus). A successful track record of overseeing multi-jurisdictional privacy programs, including implementation of CCPA, GDPR, LGPD and PIPEDA. Experience with digital advertising and marketing a plus. Experience implementing GDPR a plus. The ability to provide clear, concise legal advice, work effectively cross-functionally to drive to results, particularly with engineering, product and marketing teams. Strong executive presence and the ability to lead teams working towards a goal. Familiarity and ease with technology. A team player.
