Senior Counsel - Commercial Real Estate Business - AVP Duties: Advise and counsel bankers on structuring, originating, and documenting a variety of types of transactions. Identify and mitigate risks (legal and other). Provide legal interpretations of regulations, state and federal laws, and guidance on their applicability to commercial real estate finance businesses. Participate in project teams relating to regulatory and other matters and new products and services. Review proposed new or modified products and marketing materials, businesses, practices, and procedures, and identify any legal and regulatory issues. Prepare and update standard forms and procedures. Provide training for bankers. Participate in the CRE Legal team, and help in supporting its direction and strategy, including driving forward diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and maintaining a collaborative and inclusive team culture. Escalate issues to CRE Legal team, as appropriate and share potential concerns, issues, and ideas with other legal and control functions across the Firm.

Qualifications: Requisite legal credentials and experience. 3-5 years of experience at a law firm and/or in-house legal department. Knowledge of the legal and regulatory requirements related to multifamily and commercial real estate financing and servicing and related businesses with transferrable skills/knowledge. Ability to prioritize work, effectively manage many issues at one time, and interact effectively with management and team members. Ability to understand the business needs and develop collaborative relationships with internal partners across the supported businesses, the Firm, and external clients. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to comply on the first day with all attorney licensing requirements as dictated by the state in which the role will sit.
