General Counsel - Global Employment Law The candidate will provide labor and employment-related legal advice and counsel to the company's Human Resources professionals and company leadership worldwide. This includes legal research, drafting and counseling on a broad range of international and employment/labor legal issues. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, will contribute to the protection of NielsenIQ's legal interests, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and facilitate the achievement of corporate objectives by providing timely, high-quality, thorough and cost-effective counsel concerning complex legal employment issues. Responsible for strategy and execution of global labor and employment for company. Provides in-house legal counsel on global labor and employment matters including all HR issues, including wage and hour laws, worker's compensation, state and federal agency claims, labor relations, terminations, employment policies and practices, restructuring, works councils and employee agreements. Direct all employment law matters, both domestic and international. Hands-on management of labor and employment claims, matters and separation agreements. Manage outside counsel both domestically and internationally on labor and employment matters and litigation. Conduct due diligence and provide legal support on labor/employment items as it relates to mergers and acquisitions. Provide counsel with respect to benefits plans and programs. Should have Juris Doctor and a member in good standing of the bar. Must have 10+ years of labor and employment law experience, including litigation, investigations and counseling in the US and global. Experience in evaluating employee disciplinary matters is required. In-house experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience with labor and employment laws/regulations, experience in preparation of all labor and employment related documents are required.
