Senior Counsel - US Government Procurement Duties: Provide leaders, stakeholders, and colleagues with expert, practical, legal and business advice on complex US Government contracting and business issues. Help shape both strategic and tactical actions within regulatory boundaries to maximize value for customers Keep the business safe in a highly scrutinized regulatory environment. Work as a member of the Renewable legal team to assist on all aspects of its US Government business. Deliver specialized government contracts and regulatory counseling for functional organizations that support business segments selling to the US Government. Develop relationships with external customer and regulatory counsels. Play an integral role in the Renewable Government business growth strategy. Under minimal supervision, plan, conduct and supervise complex legal assignments, requiring an ability to evaluate matters that may have a major bearing on conducting the Company's business. Embrace the Lean transformation underway. Lead with unyielding integrity. Works with other counsels in other businesses to develop best practices and strategic advice. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of relevant industries in order to contribute to the objectives of the business from a legal standpoint and help unite to differentiate itself from the competition. Supports other parts or regions and other initiatives as directed by the General Counsel.
Qualifications: JD Degree. 5+ years experience with US Government contracts legal support (government, in-house or law firm), including FAR Part 12 and Part 15 experience and familiarity with the FAR and DFARS. Desired Characteristics: Additional experience with other forms of US government funding (grants, etc.). Humility, transparency, and focus. Strong oral and written communication and persuasive skills, including executive-level communication. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to take initiative and act independently and with good judgment, with little or no daily supervision or guidance. Commitment to integrity, professionalism, and collegiality. Strong problem-solving skills, pragmatism and flexibility/resilience. Ability to interact effectively with senior management and peers and all other levels of the organization. Ability to work in a complex and matrixed organization in a collaborative and boundaryless manner and to simultaneously manage numerous and varied tasks and to exercise sound judgment in prioritizing among them. Fluency in English language.
