Counsel Employment Law and Litigation Responsibilities: Provide day-to-day advice and counsel on a broad range of employment law matters, including hiring, restrictive covenants, diversity and inclusion, employee relations, performance management, terminations, leaves of absence and accommodations, internal investigations, and wage and hour issues. Manage outside counsel engagements in connection with the arbitration, litigation, regulatory proceedings, and any related matters in the United States. Investigates and responds to third-party subpoena requests and administrative charges. Review and draft employment-related documents, including employment agreements, separation agreements, consulting agreements, offer letters, and confidentiality agreements. Assist with periodic legal reviews of and updates on employment agreement templates, employment practices and arrangements, and company policies and procedures. Counsel the business on new or pending federal and state legislation, laws, rules and regulations, and industry developments and trends that may affect operations. Prepare and conduct regular employee and management training on relevant matters. Provide support with respect to benefits and compensation-related matters, including pay equity and executive compensation. Perform other duties as assigned/required.
Required Qualifications: J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited Law School. Member of good standing with the Texas Bar. 4+ years of relevant experience focused on employment law at a law firm and/or in-house legal department. Exemplary written, oral, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple, competing projects and maintaining a strong focus on detail. Self-confidence to make decisions and follow through with peers and management. Preferred Qualifications: Strong academic credentials. Global employment law experience. Top-tier employment law firm experience.
