Corporate Counsel Responsibilities: Manage and support multiple concurrent litigation matters (including assisting with discovery) across a broad range of subject matters and jurisdictions including but not limited to employment and general litigation. Work with and manage outside counsel, including providing strategic and tactical direction as appropriate, and actively supporting/participating in the discovery process. Conduct a pre-litigation assessment of potential claims for and against the Company and evaluate/inform of any potential risk mitigation strategies. Assist the Legal Department efforts in the creation, implementation, and refinement of forms, processes, policies, and procedures as needed. Respond to day-to-day inquiries from internal stakeholders on a wide range of legal subjects and consult with other in-house attorneys as needed. Perform basic legal research as needed to address internal inquiries be proactive in company education. Assist in the protection of the Company's intellectual property rights and data. Work on a wide variety of contracts as needed, including payer agreements. Work on learning litigation management software and consistently utilize this software in litigation management activities. Work on special projects to support the work of the Legal Department and the needs of the Company.
Qualifications: J.D. from an Accredited Law School. Member in good standing of State Bar. 4+ years litigation experience, including 2+ years of employment litigation/counseling, in a law firm environment. Excellent drafting and negotiation skills. Commitment to expeditious, high-quality service to internal customers and the dedication to work the hours it takes to meet those expectations. Ability to collaborate well with attorneys and colleagues. Integrity and a strong moral and ethical compass. Ability to proactively identify and analyze potential legal issues, and to develop creative and business-focused legal advice and solutions. Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and make things happen quickly in a fast-paced environment. Strong oral and written communication skills. Accountable and able to exercise sound judgment. Ability to develop an argument and communicate complex topics into an understandable short narrative across a range of interested parties.
