Data Privacy Counsel The candidate will provide in-house legal advice on data privacy laws and requirements, working seamlessly and collaboratively with colleagues in other parts of the organization and around the globe. Draft, negotiate and review data privacy contractual terms. Review and advise on transparency notices and data privacy policies. Review and advise on arrangements with affiliates and third-party service providers that process personal data on our behalf. Review and advise data incidents. Advise on inquiries and requests by data subjects and other third parties. Create awareness and training materials.
The candidate should have completed a Master's degree in law and have proven prior experience in consulting and/or private practice. Certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM or CIPT are a plus. Must have knowledge of data privacy regulations and requirements across the United States. Knowledge of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the European ePrivacy Directive would be a plus. Learn how to manage data privacy tools (e.g., OneTrust) and processes. Must have a strong interest in data and technology. Fluency in English is required. Japanese skills would be a plus. Clear communications skills and highly analytical. Skill to reduce complex concepts into smaller ideas. Strong attention to details, ability to meet deadlines and prioritize projects.
