Associate Counsel, Wage & Hour Compliance

Associate Counsel, Wage & Hour Compliance Duties: Oversee audit of wage and hour compliance practices and procedures across Day & businesses. Ensure compliance in the design and implementation of wage and hour practices and procedures. In doing so, work with and train BSO Compliance team (non-lawyers). Conduct compliance training for BSO, HR and Operations personnel as needed. Participate in testing of processes and technology. Assist Vice President, Labor & Employment Counsel with labor and employment legal needs, including advice and counsel.

Qualifications: Law Degree. Licensed to practice law. Any state Bar. 4-7 years of relevant in-house counsel, government or law firm experience, with experience with employment law and wage and hour issues Expertise with federal and state wage and hour laws. Understanding of Service Contract Act, Davis Bacon Act and CA wage & hour law. Knowledge of the staffing industry, background with government contractors, or experience working for the Department of Labor. Understanding of and experience with wage and hour compliance audits. Ability to communicate effectively and clearly. Superior oral communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks based on changing business needs. Ability to work with and influence others, including those in operations. Client-focus and detail oriented. Innovative and energetic with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.
