Associate Vice President, Privacy Attorney

Associate Vice President, Privacy Attorney The candidate will play a key role in ensuring that firm Works complies with laws governing privacy and information-security in a global, retail environment. Must (1) lead key compliance initiatives, (2) assess risk, (3) develop relationships with key stakeholders across multiple brands and functions, (4) make strategic and operational decisions, (5) from legal requirements, develop business rules and compliance solutions, (6) develop assurance plans, (7) handle day-to-day review and deliver real-time advice, and (8) develop and conduct training. Lead compliance initiatives. Apply laws governing collection, use, disclosure, security, and transfer of consumer and employee information. Manage policies across the Enterprise. Support incident response programs, and manage incidents. Help develop and maintain a governance program. Support and/or lead compliance efforts, including those involving the CCPA, PIPEDA, CASL, TCPA, HIPAA, and emerging laws. Translate legal requirements into business rules, which business and technology leads can clearly comprehend for implementation. Understand and learn the technologies that create privacy and information-security challenges. Build relationships with business partners and provide them with solutions. Evaluate new technology services, make recommendations, and tailor compliant implementations. Review data provisions in contracts, negotiate terms, and revise contract data provisions. Develop and conduct training. Work closely with compliance managers to implement legal requirements and assess compliance. Identify emerging issues and continuously improve processes. Manage outside counsel. Should have Juris Doctor (JD) degree from accredited law school. Bachelor's degree is required. 12 years experience in a law firm and/or as in-house counsel is required, Must have demonstrated experience with privacy and information security on a large scale. Demonstrated ability to work through retail cross-channel issues is required. Should have demonstrated ability to understand cybersecurity and retail technologies.
