Counsel - Compliance The candidate, with the oversight of the Vice President, Ethics and Compliance, will be responsible for continuing to build and implement a modern ethics and compliance program at the company while also looking for impactful ways to use data to drive performance of the ethics and compliance program. Key focus areas will involve drafting policies and procedures and corresponding training for employees. Draft, evaluate, revise, and implement compliance policies and procedures along with developing and delivering training to employees. Maintain conflict of interest disclosure process. Participate in periodic compliance risk assessment process and draft reports and recommended improvements. Participate and support the Compliance Committee. Conduct compliance monitoring activities and recommend enhancements to improve effectiveness. Assist with the management of the ethics hotline and conduct or manage internal investigations as needed. Assist with the development and implementation of the third-party due diligence program. Travel may be required to support local and out-of-state client. Should have a J.D. degree from an accredited law school with proven academic success. Should be licensed to practice law and in good standing with the Bar of any state that enables admission to practice as in-house counsel. Must have 3 years of compliance program experience in a public company preferably with a retail-focused company, with exposure to key concepts in modern compliance and ethics programs. In-house experience is desired.
