Deputy General Counsel, Employment Law Responsibilities: Proactively lead a team of legal professionals responsible for providing the Company's business and Human Capital leaders with effective advice and counsel on labor and employment law matters including terminations, discrimination, wage & hour issues, disability accommodation, state and federal compliance (e.g., ADA, ADEA, Title VII, FMLA, FLSA, OFCCP and WARN Act), investigations and traditional labor law. Oversee employment-related disputes, including in litigation and arbitration. Support resolution of EEOC, state, and local agency claims and charges. Manage employment law support for mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures. Operate in a strategic and proactive manner to assist internal business and Human Capital clients in managing risk related to labor and employment matters. Advise leaders and partner with enterprise resources on arbitrations, litigation, and investigation matters. Provide ongoing education and training on best practices related to labor and employment matters. Participate in occasional business travel to meet with business teams and leaders.

Required Qualifications: Juris Doctorate Degree. Current admission to a U.S. State Bar. 15+ years of relevant legal experience with a law firm and/or in-house legal department. Experience advising businesses having operations in multiple states. Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and related compliance issues. Thorough knowledge of industry-leading practices and trends through continuous learning. Strong technical and functional legal skills. Strong business acumen; prioritizes ongoing education in relevant business practices and trends. Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills. Skilled in reading and understanding individuals and interpersonal agility to support building and maintaining rapport, trust, and respect among superiors, peers, subordinates, and external company contacts. Ability to motivate and engage people to excel and work together collaboratively to drive results. Strong conflict management skills. Ability to recognize and elevate complex and/or controversial issues to senior management in a timely and effective manner. Strong communication skills. Strong organizational agility. Preferred Qualifications: In-house legal experience. Experience working in the health care industry. Experience advising businesses having international operations. Management experience.
