Senior Counsel, Litigation The candidate's duties include: Actively and strategically manage a diverse and wide range of litigation and pre-litigation matters; Partner with and oversee outside litigation counsel; Collaborate with internal teams and outside counsel to successfully, efficiently, and cost effectively resolve litigated and non-litigated disputes; Manage all aspects of outside counsel relationships, including staffing, litigation strategy, budgets, work product, discovery, responding to subpoenas; Work with IT team to identify custodians, direct the initiation of litigation holds, and address complex eDiscovery issues; Develop and document standardized litigation handling procedures and guidelines to help support a rapidly-growing, global litigation portfolio; Develop and use data analytics to drive litigation strategy and efficiencies; Actively champion firm's mission, ethics and integrity; Advise various internal clients in support of business objectives and on various pre-litigation matters; Establish and execute strategies for legal training to business partners throughout the Americas; Speak up when opportunities are identified to improve on processes used by our business partners; Identify opportunities for internal process improvements and assume a lead role in implementing them. Should have 5+ years of significant litigation experience (mediation, arbitration, and every phase of litigation - pretrial, trial and appeal) with recent in-house law practice experience and prior trial experience strongly preferred. Previous hospitality and travel experience is a plus. Must be Licensed and a member of the bar in good standing in the United States. Broad base of substantive legal experience, including Internet/e-commerce laws, commercial and real estate disputes, securities litigation, class action and consumer legal issues. Should have excellent negotiation, drafting, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to translate legal strategy to business teams and senior management.
