Associate General Counsel, Intellectual Property Responsibilities: Provide (or manage the provision of) legal counsel, advice, and guidance in connection with the company s global operations, as directed, to ensure maximum protection of the company s legal rights, mitigation of legal risks and continued legal compliance. Manage the company s IP portfolio, including the development, prosecution and support of patents, the development and protection of trademarks, copyrights and the documentation and protection of the company s trade secrets. Partner with the Innovation team to manage and provide support for the organization s intellectual property portfolio as part of the company s long-term strategy to invest in and grow. Manage and drive strategy for intellectual property litigation involving patents, trademarks and trade secrets - from start to finish. Provide counsel to the company s business units negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts, licenses, joint development agreements, and advice on general corporate matters. Collaborate with and supervise outside counsel when needed. Advise the company on patent and trade secret litigation-related issues. Coordinate and actively participate in internal discovery activities. Support the company s General Counsel and other members of the senior legal department as requested in connection with other legal matters.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor degree required as well as an active Bar membership in at least one US jurisdiction. Active USPTO patent Bar membership. 4-7 years of related experience, including legal practice with a law firm, government agency, or legal department. Excellent drafting skills with keen attention to detail. Exceptional judgment and range to quickly analyze complex legal and business issues involving a wide variety of products, services and business settings. Excellent verbal/written communications skills. Strong organizational and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently with limited supervision required. Domestic and international travel will be required. Ability to work effectively with and manage outside legal counsel, investigators, and other outside service providers. Consultative approach with the ability to analyze situations, synthesize and recommend solutions that mitigate legal risk. Excellent communication and consulting skills with the ability to engage, motivate and influence stakeholders and senior leaders; the ability to interface with all levels of the organization. Exhibits good general business sense and strong judgment. High-level capability to multi-task in a dynamic environment. Very strong attention to detail, accuracy, and on-time performance as well as excellent organizational skills. Solution-focused and flexible to adapt to the needs of the business. Demonstrates a proactive approach and collaborative style. Preferred: Previous in-house experience with intellectual property and general corporate and compliance matters is preferred and experience/expertise in one or more of the following specialty areas ? international trade compliance, privacy and data protection ? is a plus.
