Corporate Responsibilities: Review, draft and negotiate agreements related to acquisition and or leasing of real estate. Responsible for pre-feasibility research of zoning and approvals. Advise on property management, zoning, restrictions and covenants on real estate, taxes, and values. Manage condemnation process for Company-owned/leased properties. Support tax appeals process, including the management of outside counsel. Responsible for coordinating and supporting legal property management issues to include landlord or tenant issues. Prepares or reviews all of the documents that are signed at the closing of a real estate lease/purchase. Provide support for legal matters involving real estate, construction, and environmental-related topics. Provide support on projects and company initiatives. Reviews contracts and agreements, not limited to real estate. Identifies and advises on the management of potential legal risks.
Qualifications: Requires JD Degree /L.L.B. from an accredited law school. Attorney license in good standing and admission to the bar in at least one state. 5+ years experience in a full-service law firm in the corporate and real estate practice groups and preferred previous in-house experience. Proven real estate contract drafting, editing, and negotiation skills. Understanding of key business and economic drivers in real estate agreements. Proven ability to comprehend and apply basic logic principles and reporting/analysis. Strong analytical skills is required.
