Senior Counsel, Privacy & Data Protection

Senior Counsel, Privacy & Data Protection Duties: Lead and drive data privacy compliance under the GDPR, CCPA and other data-related privacy regulations. Address data usage as well as privacy and data protection requirements in the context of global privacy and data protection standards. Develop contract structures that address data usage as well as privacy and data protection requirements. Lead the review and negotiation of applicable privacy and data protection language in agreements with customers and vendors. Monitor regulatory and legislative developments pertaining to fraud and identity verification. Provide regular training and updates about privacy, fraud, and identity to internal teams to ensure compliance with emerging laws and regulations.. Establish and execute strategies for legal training to business partners throughout the company. Develop and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional business partners through regular catch-ups; demonstrate an eagerness to foster such relationships. Identify opportunities to improve existing processes used by our business partners. Identify opportunities for internal process improvements and assume a lead role in implementing them. Qualifications: CIPP or other relevant privacy certifications is a plus. Licensed and a member of the bar in good standing in the United States. 5 years' experienced data privacy lawyer with experience in other areas of law such as commercial contracts, general corporate governance and general corporate law. Extensive experience in creating and maintaining a data privacy program. Experience at a leading law firm and experience in-house. Experience effectively collaborating with stakeholders from a variety of commercial disciplines. Previous hospitality experience is a plus. Demonstrated experience being a business partner to stakeholders. Experience with, or strong excitement for, a start-up environment. Ability to work independently with a variety of stakeholders within the company and outside the company. Comfortable working cross-functionally to better understand and support ***. An ultimate team player with strong written and verbal communication skills.
