Privacy Counsel The candidate will work closely with the legal team, CSO team and each business unit to oversee our privacy program and develop and implement solutions tailored to their operations. Play a leadership role by helping develop and drive privacy and data law strategy into an international digital media business. Work on privacy and data issues across our various brands including Ookla, Spiceworks Ziff Davis, RetailMeNot, Mashable, IGN, IPVanish, VIPRE, Moz, BabyCenter, and Everyday Health. Experience in Privacy laws in the US, Canada and the EU required. Privacy and data governance required. 3 years privacy experience as an associate at a premier law firm or in-house required. Review business activities that collect, use, disclose, or dispose of data for compliance with law, policy, and best practices. Draft consumer notices, intra-company agreements, data processing agreements, and negotiate data-related contract provisions. Review and update data practices including cookie collection practices. Coordinate internal and external investigations and compliance reviews. Develop standardized policies, tools and processes, and implement them (in conjunction with CSO). Develop and maintain expertise in data law. Develop training materials. Experience providing legal advice across global markets required. Experience advising digital media or cloud services companies required. Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and bringing initiatives to conclusion required. JD degree from top law school; bar membership in your state of residence required. CIPP/US and CIPP/E a plus.
